The week, our model Chiara, who is a dancer, performed a series of 1 minute poses, which moved seamlessly into one another and were a wonderful way to experience movement for drawing. One of the techniques shown was gesture drawing, which can be good for capturing movement, especially when you are out and about with pencil and sketchbook in hand. People, animals and vehicles will not stay sill for long. It's a great technique for visual note-making. Chiara then sat for a 1 1/2 pose in a costume; tutu and ballet shoes. She kept amazingly still despite the extremely hot weather! During the break, we had tea, coffee, very cold water (!) and homemade lemon biscuits.
