For our next course 26th and 27th April 2014, the venue is the lovely Victorian upstairs room at the Tabot pub, 2 Tyrwhitt Rd, Brockley, SE4, 1QG.
To get there: Nearest station: St John's (5 minutes walking distance) St John's is 10 minutes from London Bridge. Other nearby Stations: Brockley, Ladywell & Lewisham are all a 15 minute walk away.

Both days 11am-6:30pm (Includes 6 teaching hours each day.)
What you will learn:
- You will learn how to make 10 different types of books. From stitched pamphlets, a variety of single section wraparound books -including Japanese stab binding- tunnel books, dos a dos, a tunnel book, concertina books and finally a multi section stitched hard back book, using book cloth or cover paper and end papers or your choice. You will also have the option to make and design your own covers for some of the books, using marbling techniques, basic printmaking, stamping or using traditional book cloth.
- Spend two days folding, stitching, gluing, pressing and embossing. Combining traditional and modern techniques, you will leave empowered with the knowledge and skills to apply these techniques at home.
- You will be advised on materials and stockists and receive a booklet illustrating each process you use throughout the course.
- Delicious homemade refreshments will be on offer too!
About your tutor:
Perienne is a practising artist who specialises in hand bound artist books, drawings, paintings and prints. She first learned the craft of Bookbinding at the Leipzig Academy of Book arts in Germany and has been captivated by the process ever since. She shows her work at artist book fairs and other exhibitions and has work in private and public collections. She has taught bookbinding workshops on the Greenwich University Graphic Design BA course as well as at artist book fairs.
